I didn’t complete any sewing projects this weekend. We (hubby and I) spent a lot of time with the laser. For a little history, my husband is an aerospace engineer with an undergrad in electrical engineering. He can do most anything that can be done with two hands and superior spatial reasoning. He built a 100 watt CO2 laser from the ground up and I documented the build on a blog that I still maintain. Check out rezolaserblog.wordpress.com if you’re at all interested in the build or all of our creations and foibles along the way.
The reason I mention it is that more and more my sewing/textile art and even garment sewing incorporates the use of this laser. The textile art I do with the aid of the laser is featured there and, as I get this blog out of the construction phase, will continue to be featured here along with works created without the use of the laser. For perspective, here is the laser…he’s a biggin’.
But I digress. I thought I’d post some photos of makes that pre- date the laser by more than a decade. I don’t know about you but I go through phases with my sewing. Sometimes it’s original work, sometimes I make one of the zillions of beautiful patterns out there, sometimes it’s a machine embroidery bender, and on and on. So here is a smattering from the distant past; we are going to find someone with web design experience to create photo galleries for each category but for now, take a gander if you like.
I’m probably not going to post all the panties I’ve made on this blog, but know that when you have over 70 pairs of panties and still refuse to throw away the scraps from the MANY fun tshirts you make for yourself, you start looking for places to send them. The scraps are too small to make anything else, but too big to throw away. I hate to waste fabric. HATE IT.
Now, if you, my readers, REALLY want to see all the panties, I’ll make it happen. Be forewarned, there are a LOT of them.
Whew! That was a lot of photos. One hot bobbin signing off!
