It has been a while/elephant complete!

Hi everybody!

I know I’ve been quiet here; lots going on, all good stuff, but I haven’t posted in months. I write with news!

First, pushing a 55” square FPP project through a Crescendo while trying to quilt with monofilament is demoralizing. So many thread breaks-I had to stop and think about how in the world I was going to quilt the elephant. It’s a long story but the short version is that my husband stunned me with a new Baby Lock Regalia ST! What an AMAZING machine she is; I hope to someday free motion quilt well enough to halfway be worthy of her!

I call her Queenie as she is the queen of quilting machines.

But she seemed to need some personality, some whimsy, some sense of joy, so this happened!

Isn’t this so much more fun?
Can’t neglect the bobbin winder!

We had to do some reconfiguring to accommodate her; here is a quick tour of this sewing room, just down the hall from my other sewing room in orange.

Queenie’s new home.

As you can tell, I’m pretty thrilled! Another reason to celebrate is the completion of The Matriarch elephant FPP project, pattern by Veruschka Zarate. I highly recommend her online course as well as her patterns and kits. She’s the most organized and articulate person alive!

I have been doing other projects too along with practicing FMQ. I did some stippling with two embroidery threads in an 18 needle.

Practice with two threads
FMQ framing an envelope
Mid-make on the Accomplish
Practice stippling with gold metallic thread
And more practice
I love this folded fabric technique

That gives you some insight as to what I’ve been up to. I hope everyone is busily and happily making too!
